Huawei Honor series comes with top-end smartphones and last month, Huawei added another device to the Honor series called the Huawei Enjoy 5 that was launched in China and is not available outside china as of now. Huawei also annouced the Huawei Honor Play 5X last month. Looks like Huawei is going to launch the Huawei Honor Play 5X smartphone in the US soon as it has just cleared the FCC hurdle.
The FCC documents for the Huawei Honor Play 5X comes with the model name KIW-L22 and an image of the phone’s rear panel having a fingerprint scanner below the camera module. Huawei Honor Play 5X comes with full metal body and a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) processor with Adreno 405 GPU.
It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box with EMUI 3.1. It has 3GB RAM and 2GB RAM variants with 16GB internal storage and expandable storage up to 128GB with microSD card slot. It supports Dual SIM and features a 13MP rear LED Flash camera with Sony / Samsung sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 28mm wide-angle 5P lens. A 5MP front-facing camera is also available.
Huawei Honor Play 5X has a 3000mAh battery, Fingerprint sensor at the rear side and Box speakers with Smart PA audio chip. It measures 151.3×76.3×8.15mm and weights 158 gms. It comes with 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 GPS etc connectivity features. It comes in Silver and Sunset Gold colors and is priced at 1399 Yuan($220) for the 3GB RAM variant and 999 Yuan ($157) for the 2GB RAM variant in China.
As the Huawei Honor Play 5X has cleared the FCC certification, we can expect a launch event soon in the US for this device.
