Two new Motorola devices has just got the FCC approval in the United States and are expected to be the upcoming Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus variants. The Moto G4 has also made its appearance on the GeekBench browser with some specs listed. The model numbers that has got the FCC approval from the FCC includes Motorola XT1643, XT1624, XT1622, XT1642, XT1620, XT1640, XT1621 and XT1641 that will be the Moto G4 and G4 Plus launching in the May 17th event in India. So in total there are 8 models Motorola may be launching each differs with some differences from each other.
The Geekbench listing for the Motorola Moto G4 comes with some specs like the octa-core Snapdragon 617 msm8952 processor and 3GB of RAM. It runs on the Android 6.0.1 marshmallow OS out of the box. It scored 719 points in the single core test and 3076 points in the multi core test. No more details have been available in the GeekBench test of the device.
The FCC documents for the model numbers XT1643 and XT1624 and for XT1622 and XT1642, XT1621 and XT1641, XT1620 and XT1640 confirms the connectivity options like 4G LTE, GSM/GPRS/EGPRS, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and WiFi / WiFi Direct options. The FCC documents doesn’t have any other details listed about these two model numbers.
A render and a video of the Moto G4 was leaked few weeks back that gives the clear idea of the device design and the Zauba listing leaked the specs. The company has already sent out the invites for its upcoming event on May 17th where we can expect the launch of the Moto G4 and G4 Plus announcement.
The Moto G4 or Moto G (4th Gen) is expected to have a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla glass protection. Under the hood, it is powered by the 1.2GHz Octa-Core 64-bit Snapdragon 430 (MSM8937) processor that comes with Adreno 505 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal storage and will also carries microSD card slot for expandable storage option. It will run on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box with Dual SIM support and will feature a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Laser AF and 1080p video recording with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera having the OmniVision OV5693 sensor.
It will be backed up by a 3000mAh battery. The connectivity options includes 4G LTE / 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and NFC. This device will be water resistant and will have a 3.5mm audio jack with FM Radio support. On the other hand, the Moto G4 Plus will have almost similar specifications like the Moto G4 with some changes like upgraded 3GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera instead of 13-megapixel and will have a fingerprint scanner as well. Other features of the Moto G4 Plus will be same as Moto G4.
